MOXO / Portable optical CMM
Take the measuring room to the shop floor.
A wireless probe, a portable optical unit and software that guides the measurement and writes the report.
Some parts are too big to go to the measuring room.
Welded frames, fixtures, sheet-metal structures and machine beds are measured where they are built, often by hand. The result depends on the person holding the gauge, and the report is written up later.
MOXO brings a coordinate measuring system to the part. The optical unit is set up beside it, the operator touches each feature with the probe, and the software guides every step and builds the report as the measurement happens.
A probe, an optical unit and software that runs the measurement.
MOXO is a modular optical measuring system: a smart probe tracked by a portable optical unit, with MOXOFT software that measures with or without CAD data and reports automatically.

- 1
Optical unit
Portable; set up beside the part, it tracks the probe.
- 2
Probe
Wireless and battery-free, 250 g. The operator touches each feature to be measured.
- 3
The part
Not carried to a measuring room; measured where it stands.
0.02 mm + 0.03 mm × L
- 4
MOXOFT
Shows the next feature to touch and writes the report while the measurement runs.
Set up, touch, report.
Set up the optical unit.
The portable optical unit stands beside the part. It is quick to set up in the field and measures from 1 m to 3.5 m in front of the camera.
Touch the features.
The wireless, battery-free probe weighs 250 g. MOXOFT shows the operator what to measure next, in real time, at any angle and over any length.
Get the report.
Measurements are reported automatically, in a format tailored to the customer and the process.
MOXOFT: measure against the drawing, or without one.
CAD data supported
Measure against the design, or without CAD data at all.
GD&T interface
Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, set up in the software.
Any angle, any length
Features measured from the direction the part allows.
Real-time guiding
The next feature to touch, shown while the operator works.
Automatic reporting
Output tailored to customer and process needs.
PolyWorks compatible
Measurement data can be taken into PolyWorks.
What changes
Less depends on the operator.
The software guides each step, which prevents operator-based measurement errors.
Shorter measurement time.
No moving the part, no writing the report afterwards.
Measurement where the part is.
On the shop floor, on the fixture, on site.
Carrying large parts to a measuring room, tape-and-gauge checks that depend on who holds them, and reports typed up after the fact.

Questions buyers ask
How accurate is MOXO?
0.02 mm + 0.03 mm × L, where L is the measured length in metres.
How large a part can it measure?
From one optical unit position it measures within a volume from 1 m to 3.5 m in front of the camera. At 3.5 m that volume is about 4.1 m × 2.7 m.
Do I need CAD data?
No. MOXOFT measures with or without CAD data, and supports GD&T when you have a drawing.
Does the probe need charging?
No. The probe is wireless and battery-free.
Can I use the results in PolyWorks?
Yes. MOXO is PolyWorks compatible.
Tell us about the part you need to measure.
Send us the part’s size, a photograph or drawing, and the features you need to check. We will tell you how MOXO would measure it.
